For this project students looked at the artwork of Chris Piascik
and discussed doodling as both an artform and as a mental exercise..
Students then created their own doodles starting with an abstract continuous line. Students were asked to respond to their continuous line through drawing. This lesson incorporated foundational study of several elements and principles of art and design; as students worked through their composition, they studied and incorporated pattern, value, texture, unity, and movements. When students completed the drawing portion of their work, they incorporated their knowledge of color theory by painting their drawing using a color scheme.
